Psychotherapy works at greater depth than counselling and offers the opportunity to explore how individuals have become the people they are, and whether they are living their lives as effectively as they would like. Through helping people understand and come to terms with the negative effects of their past experience, and to celebrate the positive, it can enable them to change the way they see themselves and relate to others.


Psychotherapy is a longer-term process of treatment that identifies deep-seated emotional issues and the foundations of problems and difficulties. It can therefore help people with psychological problems that have built up over the course of a long period of time.


Psychotherapy can help individuals understand feelings, thoughts and actions more clearly and thus learn how to evaluate and adjust where appropriate.


Entering into any form of psychotherapy requires a firm commitment on the part of the individual in distress, and open communication.

Each session is 50 minutes in duration. The course of sessions will be discussed during the initial contact and will vary.
